Why are DonziDirect Classic hatch latches different?

These are not reverse-engineered reproductions. Our hatch latches are manufactured by the original OEM foundry using the original factory molds that have produced Donzi hatch latches since the 1960's.

Each latch is:

•Cast from Bronze

•Chrome plated to OEM specifications

•Produced from the original tooling

We've seen lower-cost alternatives appear online, but many are manufactured using different materials and tooling. While they may appear similar in photographs, they are not produced by the original OEM manufacturer or from original molds. 

For many classic Donzis, original engine hatches and hardware are no longer available. We believe the correct OEM-manufactured hardware is the best choice for preserving the fit, finish, and long-term reliability of these boats. Our latches have been tested through the decades and trusted by the factory to perform in the demanding marine environment, enduring rough water, saltwater exposure, and decades of dependable service.
